My Thrifted Easter Tablescape
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve designed a table-scape, but I love the idea of repurposing, obbbbbbviously, and thought I could put together something for Easter brunch. I started with a color palette, and decided to lean into a vintage spring vibe, and mix in some complementary orange and blues with accents of brass. And ultimately, the challenge I set for myself would be the classic Emery method: use what I have, thrift what I don’t, mix in some DIYs, and add a sprinkle of something new (to basically fill in any gaps).
Here is where I ended up:
What I Already Had:
Chargers — I bought these from Amazon a few years ago. They’re a classic woven reed that can be used throughout the year
Plates — A Hearth & Hand classic from Target. They’re Mom’s special occasion plates that are used throughout the year.
Silverware — not shown as they didn’t fit the vibe. Plus, a whole new brass-ware set wasn’t in the budget. (The dream)
What I Thrifted:
Tablecoth — This was a $5 lace curtain I found at Goodwill (Something Similar)
Napkins — Originally two standard pillowcases, I found them at the antique store for $5 each that I then upcycled into napkins. (Something Similar)
Napkin Rings — These were one of my very first thrifted items I found years ago. I wish I remembered where I got them and what I paid for them. (Something Similar)
Brass Candlesticks — A classic item to find at any antique store. I believe these were $8 each. (Something Similar)
Vinage Orange Glassware — Two of the three mismatched cups I found at a Goodwill, and the third at the antique store. Prices were $2, $4, and $5. (Something Similar)
Vinage Blue Plain & Etched Glasses — Coincidentally, I found these mismatched yet similar glasses in the same antique store but on different ends. Glasses were $8 for one pair, and $9 for the other. (Something Similar)
Scalloped Edge Vase — Another antique find for $10. (Something Similar)
Total: $86 (not including the napkin rings)
What I Bought New:
Not too bad, right? I think I ought to make this classic Emery method a silver-plated thing. And maybe next year I can take these same photos but with some beautiful brass silverware. My favorite part is the up-cycled napkins I made. The colors in them just fit perfectly with the rest of the table—just one of those lucky finds at the antique store. Overall, I love how this spread came together.
